Well-being Group Facilitator

As a long term member of MhIST (6 years), my current role is to facilitate the Well-being groups, where members discuss a range of issues in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere. Issues in the 12 months have included sleep, diet, motivation and loneliness and we have also had a number of guest speakers.

In addition, I keep up to date with public policy and equality issues that could affect someone’s mental health and building on my own long term personal experiences of mental health with other groups. This allows the wellbeing group to be a positive experience for many who attend the group.

Also in the last 12 months I’ve ran the bereavement group and supported both the Men’s group and Saturday Social.

In my spare time I’m a keen history buff and likes reading, heritage and musical theatre. Also, each May I can be found enjoying the Eurovision Song Contest.
