There are two ways that an individual can become a trustee/director of MhIST:
1 – Be nominated and elected by a group within the MhIST structure at the AGM to represent that group. For example, be a member of a self-help group, the talk therapy team, the advocacy team and so on. There is sometimes a competitive election where two or more people want to take the role.
2 – Be co-opted to the board. This is usually where a person has skills that are specifically needed and they are asked to join or where a person from the nomination and election route joins the board between normal periods of election.
If you’re interested in sharing your skills, knowledge, talent and bold ambition with us in order to enable us to continue developing and delivering the essential mix of services and support that people who experience mental health problems in Bolton’s communities want and need, please contact Melvin Bradley, Manager (melvin.bradley@mhist.co.uk) for more information on the next steps.
